A Precocious Young Girl Struggles to Find Love in Lost in Montreal from Incanto Press

A humorous story of a young girl with a complicated family situation and several suitors.

San Francisco, CA, USA (July 8, 2014) -- Incanto Press (http://www.incantopress.com), announces the publication of Lost in Montreal as part of its inaugural Discovery Series. Each book in the Discovery Series takes readers on a compelling and surprising journey. Lost in Montreal is a humorous coming-of-age story of a young girl who discovers her power to intoxicate men. It's a power that allows her to avoid inner pain.

Written by highly acclaimed novelist and screenwriter, Gay Walley, Lost in Montreal tells the story of a lively, undaunted girl named Jacqueline. This fearless young girl is surrounded by family, friends and a collection of suitors who thrive on being survivors, living bravely and communicating through humor. Part of this collection of engaging characters is Jacqueline's aloof, beautiful and seductive mother, Lisbeth who abandoned her at a young age. Her father, Gerald, a broken Englishman, who raised her in bars, is a source of dubitable wisdom. This unusual upbringing has left her lonely. She's trying to find herself and wanting what most children want-their mother's approval.

Jacqueline is not your average girl and goes about seeking her mother's approval by getting involved with her mother's boyfriends. Lisbeth is unmoved by her actions, leaving Jacqueline lonely and lost. How does she fill this void? She goes out in the streets and clubs of Montreal to distract herself with the power of her sexual attractiveness. Using wit and deep feeling, Lost in Montreal is a coming-of-age story that will turn the literary world on its heels. With Jacqueline leading the way, you'll meet a collection of lives that are both sensual and fun. They are people who live boldly with independence, and in their own way, are all Lost in Montreal.

Gay Walley is the author of two prior novels. Strings Attached (University Press of Mississippi, 1999) was a finalist for the Pirates Alley/Faulkner Award, the Writer's Voice Capricorn Award, and Paris Book Festival Award. The Erotic Fire of the Unattainable (IML Publications, 2007) is being reissued by Skyhorse Publishing in 2014. It was a finalist for Paris Book Festival Award. A film based on the book is currently under production from a script written by Ms. Walley. She is also a Zoetrope finalist for her story, The Naked Maja. Her play Love, Genius and a Walk opened at the 2013 Midtown Festival in New York and was nominated for six awards including best playwright. It is scheduled to be produced Off-Broadway. Gay Walley lives in New York City.
