The 2013 ADCC Submission World Championships - Lovato’s School of BJJ & MMA In Oklahoma City - Team Returns Triumphant With Multiple Medals

The Lovato team of three earned two medals, the first ADCC medals ever earned from Oklahoma grapplers. Silver and Bronze Medals brought home from Beijing, China.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, December 25, 2013, Rafael Lovato, Jr., Jared Dopp and Justin Rader stole the show at the 2013 ADCC Submission World Championships in Beijing, China. The  team traveled a long distance with the intention of making a statement for Lovato’s School of BJJ & MMA in Oklahoma City, and America can be proud of their accomplishments in bringing home a Silver and Bronze Medal. All of the exhaustive training for six days a week turned out to be well worth the effort.

Rafael Lovato, Jr., Head Instructor at Lovato’s brought home the Silver Medal in the 88kg Division. He waged war against former champion Pablo Popovitch, and submitted the "Russian Bear", Rustam Chiesv. Rafael’s first ADCC Medal with more to come. Justin Rader, the children’s martial arts program Head Instructor walks away with the Bronze Medal in the 66kg Division. He defeated current World Champion, Augusto Mendes, and rising star Joao Miyao, also his first ADCC Medal, and he is still smiling. Jared Dopp came in 4th place in the over 99kg Division. Jared is a Purple Belt that stunned the crowd as he defeated World Champion Black Belt Leo Nogueira, and also the defending ADCC Champion, Vinny Magalhaes.

The team is representative of the kind of quality instruction and training that is coming out of Lovato’s. The world has stood-up and taken notice of Team Lovato, who will be sure to delight many more martial arts enthusiasts all over the planet. They are in training right now for future competitions, and nothing will stand in their way, according to a Lovato’s spokesperson. 

Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Oklahoma’s only fully accredited Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, with instructors that are multiple certified USBJJF and IBJJF Black Belts. Having been in operation for over 15 years, the school offers self-defense programs such as: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Submission Wrestling/Grappling/No-Gi BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
