Staying Safe on Halloween from SafeTech Alarm Systems

SafeTech Alarm Systems provides Halloween safety tips for children of all ages.

Halloween is right around the corner and SafeTech Alarm Systems wants to make sure that all children have a safe and happy Halloween. SafeTech specializes in keeping people and property safe. Now it is providing parents with several tips that will keep children safe on Halloween night.

Parents should go trick-or-treating with their children until they are old enough to go with a friend or sibling. Parents can go in a group along with other children and their parents in order to make it safer and more fun for everyone involved. Both children and parents should have working flashlights with them. Not only do flashlights make it easier for young children to see in the darkness, but they also make it easier for other people – including motorists – to see the kids.

Children should only visit neighbourhoods that they are familiar with. This will reduce the likelihood of them getting lost or confused by their surroundings. This is especially important for children who may be going out unsupervised. Make sure your children let you know which route they will be taking and that they stick to this route.

Parents should also instruct children to walk with caution and not to run. Children should watch out for other people as well as cars at all times. They should walk on the sidewalk and look both ways before crossing the road. It’s also important to pay attention around driveways and alleyways. Kids should know to only cross the road at the corner, rather than in the middle of the street.

Drivers who are out on Halloween night need to remember that there will be many more children out that night and that some of them may be difficult to see. Make sure you drive with caution and keep your eyes peeled for children at all times.

Children near to wear safe, comfortable costumes that they can walk in without difficulty. All footwear should be comfortable and it’s very important that children only wear masks or face coverings that do not obstruct their vision in any way. Whenever possible, children should wear face paint or make-up instead of a mask.

Make sure that you tell your children not to eat any treats they receive until they get home. You can give them healthy snacks such as nuts, seeds or trail mix to take with them if you feel that they might get hungry during the night. Once your children arrive home, be sure to check all of their treats before they eat them and remove any treats that may have been tampered with. You’ll also want to remove any foods that the child may be allergic to.
