The inventors of the CNC xPRO Driver, a new board for CNC routers featuring four powerful motor drivers, integrated wireless comms and powered from ATX power supply have launched their kickstarter campaign with a goal of raising $15,000 in pledges by June 22, 2014!

Dayton, OH - Spark Concepts LLC has come up with a new CNC driver that’s ahead of its time and comes as a single board solution, which is fully extensible for further development. “The kickstarter funds will help to pay for finalizing the development and engineering of this device and for the first production run,” said Bill Kaval, Chief Engineer for Spark Concepts LLC.

According to the developers, this new CNC driver is being developed as a one-stop solution anyone would ever need for CNC projects. To make this happen, they designed a single board solution with room for future development. Further, they designed the four motor drivers to enable dual motor configuration for the X, Y, or Z axis or the capability to run as a four-axis machine. Since, they had lot of scrap computers with them; they incorporated a 20+4 pin ATX header to power the CNC xPRO directly from ATX computer power supply. Furthermore, they are working on a smartphone/tablet CNC concept that would soon become a reality.

• 100% GRBL version 0.8c compatible
• Wireless ready (compatible with bluetooth, wifi, & xbee)
• A slave-able motor driver for dual drive axis CNC machines (like the shapeoko)
• Can be powered by ATX PSU or 12V/24V two-wire power supply
• Drive 4 motors with DRV8825 Stepper Drivers - 2.5A (peak) with 1.75A (RMS) with up to 1/32 microstepping
• Fourth driver cam slave to X,Y, or Z, or can run as an independent axis
• Comes with a hardware support for both wireless & USB operation
• Features emergency stop to cut the motor power
• 12V & 5V** outputs for powering peripherals (pumps, fans, & vacuums)
• Connects with stepper motors and limit switches swiftly through 3.5mm screw terminals
• Features expansion port for further updates
