Mindset Defect’s Debut Album Delivers A New Vision Of Rock Music

The new album 'Sell The World' blends sweeping melodies with a more focused and raw musical power. For us as a band, these are simply the best songs we have ever written, and this is an album is one that needs to be heard.
— Scott Haynes, Drummer, Mindset Defect

Nashville, Tennessee – On May 05, 2014, Melodically driven metal band ‘Mindset Defect’ launched an Indiegogo campaign for their debut album “Sell The World,” which will be produced by Malcolm Springer, who is known for his work with Fear Factory, Greenwheel, Full Devil Jacket, Collective Soul, Matchbox 20 and more.

“The new album ‘Sell The World’ blends sweeping melodies with a more focused and raw musical power. For us as a band, these are simply the best songs we have ever written, and this is an album is one that needs to be heard.” - Scott Haynes, Drummer, Mindset Defect

Since their conception in 2005 Mindset Defect has worked diligently to bring something different to rock and metal fans. They’ve been taking the southeast by storm, sharing the stage with genre favorites like Helmet, Shadows Fall, God Forbid, Straight Line Stitch, Diecast, Almost Kings, Intronaut, and Ekotren.

Coming after the hit E.P. “Device”, which landed world-wide distribution in the December 09 issue of Metal Edge Magazine (sampler CD), this debut album is the culmination of 10 years of focused hard work, failure, and eventual success.

The band has already completed 5 songs for the album and invested funds to see the project to the halfway completion mark. They’ve now turned to a new concept, “fan funding,” which more and more artists are using to involve their audience in the production of their music.

In return for pledging funds, backers of their Indiegogo campaign will receive insider “perks” like a discounted download of the album, special DVD footage giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band through interviews and song explanations, and even an assault 220 fixed bridge guitar from Kramer Guitars that was signed by the band.

“There is something new and yet familiar about the songs on this album. Each one has a uniqueness of its own, and this album is one that needs to be heard.” - Malcolm Springer, Producer

The Indiegogo campaign for the debut album will run until June 21, 2014. For more information, check out the campaign page or contact the campaign manager Scott Haynes.
