“With the increased popularity of his show comedian Mel Austin proves there is a demand for clean stand-up comedy. His “Squeaky Clean Comedy Show” now sells out at the Ontario Improv.”
During the show Austin introduces 4 other comedians for 90 minutes of comedy completely free of any vulgarity or offensive language.
Originally from Chicago, but now based in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Mel has been doing stand-up for over 16 years.
Mel Austin states, “One day I asked God, “you gave the talent to be a comedian, what do you want me to do with it?” The inspirational whisper came and the “Squeaky Clean Comedy Show” was born.”
An opportunity at the Ontario Improv was soon to follow. At that time, they didn’t have any “clean shows” so the Improv decided to open their doors on a Saturday afternoon and give Austin’s new concept a try.
“I started in November, 2012 with only 79 people and now shows average 320 people, which is capacity at Ontario Improv.”
“The show is a blend of energy, fun and variety without the use of any profanity. I draw from a large pool of the funniest clean comics in the country, so each show is fresh with a different line-up,” continues Austin.
Keith Hunt concludes, “Over time it has become the norm that humor must include bad language.
