North Texas Start-up Calls For Return To Classic Horror Adventure In ‘Agoraphobia’ Kickstarter

Our dream isn't just a flashy game, with run-and-gun tactics, but something that is immersive and draws people in. And our projected funding goal of $20,000 is all about building game elements that do that.

Fort Worth, TX - Crammed among the various indie game studios looking for funding of their pet projects this summer are relative newcomers Two Heads Are Better Entertainment. Founded by two young professionals born of the pop culture-laden 80s, the company is looking to grow from web videos and indie game development into a collaborative workspace for up-and-coming electronic artists in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

The company’s first commercial game release is a PC/Mac platform game built off the Unity Pro engine titled Agoraphobia; a first-person zombie survival game that harkens back to a time that rewarded players for being cautious and taking the path of least resistance.

“Our dream isn’t just a flashy game, with run-and-gun tactics, but something that is immersive and draws people in,” says Ryan Freels, Head of Development. “And our projected funding goal of $20,000 is all about building game elements that do that.”

Moving beyond that funding goal wouldn’t just allow more reward tiers for backers, like including people as named NPCs in the final game, but also offering more full-time work to local modelers and programmers, a larger goal for THAB.

“We’re not one of the big dogs of the local indie scene, to be sure,” says Geoff Rose, Head of Creative. “But we’re passionate about what we do, and keen on getting more passionate people together with us on these kinds of projects.”

During the campaign and pre-production of the game, THAB Entertainment plans to release original content on their official YouTube channel and web page.

More information about the campaign, the reward tiers and the game itself can all be found at Agoraphobia’s official Kickstarter page.
