Salt Lake City, Utah (May 20, 2014) -- Fantasy film fans responded in huge numbers to the Kickstarter campaign for the first of five films in the Mythica film series, and Arrowstorm Entertainment has announced that the campaign surpassed their goal. (http://www.ArrowstormEntertainment.com)
The Mythica fantasy film series is gathering momentum. Fans of the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter have flocked to be a part of this dramatic adventure fantasy film series.
Arrowstorm has announced that because they exceeded their goal for their Kickstarter campaign, they will be able to complete the first film in the series Mythica: Quest for Heroes (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3405714/) in time for a premiere to be held at the next Salt Lake Comic Con in September 2014. The premiere will include a personal appearance by Kevin Sorbo, a star of the film.
Sorbo also starred in a previous Arrowstorm film, Survivor, a sci-fi adventure. He may be best remembered for his starring roles in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Kull the Conqueror, and Andromeda.
The Mythica series follows the adventures of Marek (Melanie Stone), a wizard born with the dark power of necromancy. Kevin Sorbo makes his long-awaited return to the fantasy genre as Gojun Pye, legendary wizard and mentor to Marek. She must learn to harness the power that threatens to corrupt her, and build a team of adventurers to battle Szorlok (Matthew Mercer), the legendary Necromancer.
"The fans came through and so now we will come through for them. They can expect that we will produce the very best possible editing and effects to make this film outstanding. Our fans have spoken. We know what they want to see and we'll deliver it for them," said Jason Faller, Arrowstorm executive.
The 1,527 backers of the Kickstarter campaign pledged $94,294 to help complete the editing and special effects. All the filming has been completed for three of the proposed five films in the Mythica series. The fundraising effort provided the necessary support to complete the highest quality editing and special effects in time to have the film ready to show at Salt Lake Comic Con.
