Shiamak Davar, a well-known performing artist, dancer and singer, has announced the launch of India’s biggest Bollywood Dance Academy in London. Popularly known as the Guru of Contemporary dance, Shiamak Davar is credited with changing the way dance is perceived and performed in India through his contributions to Bollywood and dance theaters. The new academy offers a unique training program for students that include trademark dance styles synonymous with Shiamak.
“Shiamak is the one who made aspiring Indian dancers believe that they can excel in the Western style of dancing,” says the spokesperson for the Bollywood Dance Academy. “The workshops conducted by him will include a complete dance routine that will aim to train students in various disciplines of stage performance. Preparations are on full blast at the Bollywood Dance Academy for Shiamak Davar’s Summer Funk where kids, teens, and adults will be taught how to perform like a star on stage. They will also be taught Bollywood Jazz, Shiamak style contemporary dance, and of course the hugely popular Shabop style dance that’s the trademark of Shiamak. It is a rage among teens, due to its stylish, cool, urban dance style that blends Hip Hop and Street Funk with Shiamak signature moves.
Shiamak’s Bollywood Jazz is a high-energy dance style that retains the spice of Bollywood while sprucing it up with the unique techniques and moves of Jazz. The style is reminiscent of the choreography of Shiamak Davar, which is synonymous with fitness, finesse, and finery.
According to the Academy spokesperson, the entire focus of the program is to provide a one-of-a-kind training experience to students in which they are taught a comprehensive dance routine and trained in the various disciplines of stage performance. The students will have a complete ‘performing arts’ experience that includes rehearsals, team work, discipline, and professionalism.
Shiamak Davar’s training involves a unique approach that includes mentoring technically and theoretically flawless dancers. The academy lays emphasis on complete knowledge and impeccable training.
