Idle Free Systems to Sponsor and Speak about Anti-Idling Options for Fleets at Border International Truck Show

Because truck idling is expensive in terms of fuel costs, routine engine maintenance, and engine wear and tear, it was important for MVT to find a solution that would not compromise our drivers' safety or comfort, and be environmentally friendly. MVT has been nationally recognized for its innovative and forward-thinking environmental strategies. Madison, WI / El Paso, TX --  In a move to further support the trucking industry, Idle Free Systems, Inc. today announced its sponsorship of Border International Truck Show to be held June 26-27 at Southwest University in El Paso.

A two-day event, the inaugural Border International Truck Show will bring together fleet managers and trucking professionals from the El Paso / Las Cruces and surrounding areas to share experiences, perspectives and insights. This event represents an exceptional opportunity to see state-of-the-art trucks and the latest trucking industry experts and technologies.

Idle Free representative Adam Cook will hold breakout presentations during the event where he will discuss challenges fleets face in reducing fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining cab comfort during downtimes. He will also demonstrate how and why Idle Free auxiliary power units (APU) are the perfect solutions for addressing those concerns.

The Idle Free presentations will take place on both Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 from 3:15 to 4:30 PM local time in classroom four.

On Friday, June 27, guest speaker Royal Jones, CEO of Mesilla Valley Transportation, will reveal the locally owned transportation provider’s fuel efficiency secrets. MVT leads innovation in fuel efficiency with the newest trucking technologies.

According to Jones, “Because truck idling is expensive in terms of fuel costs, routine engine maintenance, and engine wear and tear, it was important for MVT to find a solution that would not compromise our drivers’ safety or comfort, and be environmentally friendly. MVT has been nationally recognized for its innovative and forward-thinking environmental strategies.  The battery-based electric APU system from Idle Free is a perfect fit with our corporate environmental initiative to reduce emissions caused by truck idling.”

The Idle Free electric APU differs from all other idle-elimination solutions because it is the most complete system available. It meets all driver needs — heat, air conditioning and electricity to run a TV and computer — without jeopardizing the productivity and longevity of the truck. The Idle Free APU is the only complete electric APU on the market and therefore will generate the fastest ROI of any system because of the significant fuel savings.

“Our anti-idling technologies are a profession of pride for us and, because of its direct impact on so many people’s lives, working with fleets is incredibly rewarding for us,” said Robert Hopton, CEO, Idle Free Systems. “The Border International Truck Show gives us the opportunity to deliver important messages to the trucking industry that emphasizes the importance of anti-idling and our brand of auxiliary power units. Our technology is vital to continued competitiveness for fleets.”

As the industry’s most innovative anti-idling technology design and manufacturing company, Idle Free Systems will showcase its Complete Electric APU Solution™, which can uniquely be powered three ways:

1. An independent battery bank consisting of four AGM batteries captures energy produced by the engine's alternator and stores it and, when the truck’s engine is off, converts the stored energy into 120 volt electricity using a pure sine wave inverter.

2. Shorepower, which is standard on every Idle Free system, allows drivers unlimited runtime when plugged into all-weather electrical outlets being deployed across North America; and

3. Reefer Link™, Idle Free’s proprietary, patented technology powered by the reefer. Idle Free is the only APU on the market that can be powered by the reefer.  When connected, drivers will have unlimited runtime for the system.

Idle Free APUs use a coolant heater as a fully integrated component of the system providing heat for both the cab / bunk as well as the engine block.
