It is women's day once again! Everyone is wishing Happy Women's Day to ladies who matter as if it is a ritual. We share the strongest biological bond with the woman we call mother. If it was not for her labor pains we would not have come into existence.

Mother sacrifices her life to raise her children by fighting against all odds. We can hardly remember sleepless nights she has spent caring for us since we were too young.

We take women for granted and try to make up for our neglect by showering them with words of praise and gifts on women’s day.

Benjamin Pure sincerely feels that celebrating or appreciating the contribution of women must not be a one day affair. Rather, we must thank women everyday to make the world a better place to live; he adds.

Women are usually referred to as a weaker sex. I have strong objection to this since it undermines the strength of women that is far too superior to men.

One more term used for pretty women is ‘beauty without brains’. This is grossly unfair. Men have convinced women that they are inferior to men.

He feels that every woman must look at unique strengths God has gifted her. One of the most significant features of women is being emotional. Women are highly responsive to different personal as well as social issues due to this virtue.

Women are usually not as aggressive as their male counterparts. In fact, in many situations being forceful can have an adverse impact. Diplomacy and cool headedness can solve number of problems.

‘As a child I used to observe my mother keenly as she worked dexterously accomplishing multiple chores at a time’, says Benjamin Pure. It was much before he was introduced to the word ‘multi-tasking’.

He thinks all women are gifted with the virtue of multitasking and therefore many successful managers in leading corporate organizations are women.

There is hardly a single domain where women have not excelled. In fact they have outperformed men in many fields.

Benjamin Pure concludes that there is no reason why women should be treated as a weaker sex. Let us pledge to respect and appreciate women every day and not just on Women’s Day.
