Du Page County Fairgrounds, Wheaton, Illinois. Back by popular demand, Zurko’s Midwest Promotins will be sponsoring the “National Civil War & Military Extravaganza — Show and Sale!” on Saturday, March 29th from 9am to 4pm. “History Comes Alive,” as promoter Bob Zurko stated.
Thousands of historical artifacts will be up for sale from the Civil War, Revolutionary War, Spanish-American War, and the World Wars 1 & 2.
In addition, treasures may be found from the Indian Wars, Fur Traders, Bowie Knives and the Early Mountain Men.
There will also be some very special displays of Historical Americana to view and enjoy. This year, Jim Tamaraz will have a display of U.S. W.W. II Garrison, Bivovc and Field Equipment. Since the Zurko Military show is near the First Infantry Division Museum, major emphasis is on First Infantry Division clothing and equipment.
Avery Bennett is displaying hand-forged fur traders traps, dating from 1751-1850. Size varies from small bear trap, wolf and beaver, down to small muskrat. The display has a Kentucky rifle, with an over and under barrel, a large powder horn and two powder measures. An 1870’s lamp with a pewter base depicting a wolf in a trap is also displayed.
Civil War Buffs will also enjoy the fabulous artillery display of Civil War Cannon, an original Gatling Gun and Coe Horn Mortar, brought to you by the Battery H-First Illinois Light Artillery.
Show hours at the Du Page County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois (County Farm & Manchester) will be on September March 29th from 9am to 4pm for only $9.00. Children of 16 & under are free with an adult. Free Parking.
