Chubby's Cheesesteaks Releases New Philly Cheese Steak Specials To Milwaukee Residents

Although we are constantly warned about eating high calorie foods these days, those warnings are worth ignoring when it comes to the Philly cheesesteak. First appearing in Philadelphia sometime in the 1930’s, the brothers Olivieri, Pat and Harry, decided to improve on the basic hot dogs that they were selling, by replacing the hot dog with steak and onions. These days the Philly cheesesteak is known around the world, and many variations now exists.

The ingredients for what is regarded as the original Philly cheesesteak ingredients are:

•    1lb of beef – Most people use rib-eye or skirt, but you can use what you prefer.
•    1 green bell pepper sliced into strips.
•    Extra virgin olive oil.
•    1 sliced yellow or white onion.
•    Salt
•    Black pepper
•    Bread can be a normal hot dog rolls, Vilotti-Pisanelli, Amoroso, French loaf, or whatever you want.
•    Sliced provolone, Cheeze Whizz or American cheese.

The only difficult part to getting the cheesesteak just right is the cooking of the beef, as it depends on what type you are using. Some cuts will take longer than others to cook through, and the Philly cheesecake is all about tender beef. Using very cheap cuts of beef is not recommended as they can be tough.

As for the cheese to use, people in Philadelphia will argue all day as to what is the best, but it all depends on your own taste. So if you are making your own cheesecake, try a few different cheeses. You never know, you may end up making something yourself that is better than any of the restaurants can supply.

Unlike some foods that come and go, the Philly cheesesteak is still very popular, and with the internet now supplying the ingredients to many people around the world, its popularity can only increase. So if you haven’t made one yourself, give it a go, and enjoy this traditional food.
